DATE: 21-24 NOV 08.

TIME: come at 12-1pm

HOW TO GET THERE? Take 403 from PASIR RIS MRT STATION/bus interchange. Impt: Ask the bus uncle where/when to get down! (tell him you're going to the PASIR RIS HOLIDAY FLATS at elias road.)

Amenities: Basketball court. Bike rentals must go to pasir ris park.

Cooking? Cooking is allowed! Electricity and Gas provided.. kitchen and utensils available, REFIGERATOR as well.

Misc: WE HAVE TO PAY FOR ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION!

BBQ will be held on 2nd night, i.e. 22nd nov.

We NEED a chef (to cook our meals, maybe.)

We'll do our grocery shopping at WHITE SANDS SHOPPING CENTRE which is next to pasir ris MRT station. Preferably on the 1st day as some of u suggested so that we have time to marinate the food and stuff for the BBQ.

two adjacent 2-room units, fully air-conditioned.

hello everyone! here are the details for our class outing after baccalaureate service on thursday, 9 october 2008.

place: sentosa

time: whenever baccalaureate service ends

things to bring:

- change of clothes/shoes (1 or 2 sets, up to you guys)
- sunblock, sun tanning lotion, after sun lotion, etc
- umbrellas, caps, sunglasses
- mats
- cameras
- swimming suits (if anyone wants to swim there)
- towel, shower stuff (i am not sure if this will be necessary, but just in case)
- frisbee, and balls
- cash

we can probably leave sentosa at like 4-5 since SOME two people need to go for a party at ulu pandan. the rest of us can have dinner together after that at vivo or something.

yeah and since we still have to go to school in the morning, so i know that we'll have many things to bring. if you guys bring shoe bags and put your shoes inside, i can volunteer my locker to store the shoe bags. do NOT bring notes/tys. please reply in the tagboard if you can bring frisbee or any kind of balls. thanks!

A Levels are less than a month away, but as this is the last class outing that we'll have until after A Levels, everyone has to come okay? (:

school is starting in something like 36hours' time, provided i can wake up on time. i'm sure we have all heard (not-too-pleasant) stories about J2's second semester, but let's try to lie to ourselves and pretend we can sail right through term 3 and 4 easily! that's the first step to actually doing it, and it's not like we have much choice anyway. i'm not sure about you all but secondary 4 was the time where my ex-class bonded the mostest so hopefully, the As would be just as galvanising for us all.

FUN-O-RAMA XIX - THE ULTIMATE TRIP

Good job for today's preparation everyone! Honestly, we have not been working so efficiently as a class since like forever. But today, I was truly happy when I saw all of us put in a lot of efforts to set up the stalls. I'd like to specially thank Melissa, Chriswini, Jeanny, Stanley, Elizabeth, Jia Yi, Anuj, Swai Ming, Xue Wen, Yi Pin and whoever was at the food stall to decorate the ugly black gabbage bag and transform it into a mat for those who'd beg for our flaming chicken and freezing balls to kneel on! :D

This is our one and only Funorama as a student in ACJC, so lets all do our best tomorrow so that the hard work we've put in during the past months pays off okay? And yeah, I'm sure we'll certainly have lots of fun, 'cause its FUNorama after all!

just came back from VOCIP, leaving for shanghai at 4AM tonight.so seeing how the class blog is pretty abandoned, i decided to be the de facto single contributor to it and add a post to celebrate my finally coming back in touch with the internet after 10 days. but i'm not addicted to it yet, no withdrawal syndromes and such.

VOCIP rocked.it was one of the most amazing times i had, enough said :) i'm now a confident public speaker.

seeing how well everyone bonded during ocip, i think our class could do with a project of our own. it neednt be an overseas thing; maybe fun-o-rama can be our glue.

well wasn’t last Friday a relatively traumatic experience in our J1 experience? Some did well (as expected) while others did not that well. I suppose as mr kwok and rj already mentioned, we’ve got to move on, since there really isn’t anything we can do now. just focus on what we can do, like destressing, or maybe studying to make up for what you didn’t do this year.

i came to ACJC with not too little emotional baggage, but you guys made it better, more bearable. although we aren’t the most happening class, i must say you guys are definitely not people i regret being in the same class with. as 2007 draws to its invariable close, i want to thank you all for being there (somewhat) for me and for each other, for not being as bitchy as you can be and all that. on the whole, i can’t find anything major to complain about this year, and 1SB4 ’07 played a big role in that (let’s just leave the academia out of this evaluation). we survived J1 together, nobody has had any nervous breakdowns and such, at least to my knowledge and for that, we all ought to be proud of ourselves. it doesn’t matter if some of us are retained (though of course its preferable that we all get promoted). so long as we got out of 2007 whole and more developed personally, i say we’ve done pretty well. results may be a big part of our lives (imagine the performance targets we need to set at work), and we all know we really cant live without good results, but theres always that little (1 ×10^-infinity)% that has no relation to results. so that’s my way of saying that results aren’t everything. sounds nicer, doesn’t it?

this post may seem a little out of character, coming from me, but i’ve never been good at saying things like these to people (as straightforward as some of you claim i am), so i write. and from the chunk of words above, i sure type a lot (:

its really painstaking to put up every picture. so, i've compressed them into one file, so you can just download that file and unzip it yourself.by the way, i'm not too sure which program can unzip it but i use winRAR, which can be downloaded free at download.com and you can download the free trial version (which is as good as the actual version, just that after 30 days you have to keep clicking "close" on the popup whenever you use it.nothing too difficult, if mildly annoying [:)

i used megaupload.com on the assumption that most of you know how to download from there:

goodbye Mr. Santosh! hahax. it was nice having you as our math teacher yes, it was tough with people like me not handing in tutorials on time.. people like me scoring single digits for test and ya. most importantly, not paying attention in class =P

but it was nice having you as out tutor. your jokes and seemingly unsolvable problems that you came up with in the shower. but your terrific three! the indo scholars, together with their sidekick anuj always managed to overcome these problems and prove the impossible possible.. kudos to them and every other person who managed to did that. you deserve a round of applause. hahax.

well, we wish you all the best in Michigan. hope that you like the gift. hahax. all the best and study hard. no more F's for you. hahax. remember to hand do your tutorials and pay attention to lectures. we'll most certainly try our hardest to. hahax. good luck and bon voyage!

it was a bright and sunny day.. every other student seems decked out in red, ready to celebrate national day.. by singing national songs, watching performances related to national day.. in a certain corner in queenstown, all 6 acs schools had gathered to "celebrate" national day as one acs.. from junior, primary to jc.. all were decked out in house t-shirts.. the day started with plenty of cramming and disorder as 6 schools gathered at the stadium.. buzz of "excitement" was very loud.. poor people had to seat on wet benches.. anyway, it started with a parade with the parade commander loud enough to wake those in the front row.. the rest at the back? i shall no go on.. throughout the entire parade and the march past, certain schools had the luxury of looking at the backs and not knowing what was going on.. might as well, not many were interested anyway.. after the parade, national anthem, pledge, national day speech and recollections(the only parts remotely related to national day), the games began.. wow whee, what fun.. all of us were stuck in the hot sun, watching people play games on the field when some of them we could hardly see.. how interesting.. some escaped, but the majority were stuck with stoning.. oh well.. what a way to start the day.. being national day celebrations, you'd expect more.. where were the patriotic songs? there wasn't much engagement with the audience either.. was an utter failure.. so while the participants were engrossed in trying to flatten each other, the audience had to be content with entertaining themselves.. even the teachers were bored.. what's new? lolx.. another interesting dimension was the introduction of acs cheers, the acs waves and a great deal about acs.. and yes.. obedience does appear to die out with old age.. only the junior and primary kids looked remotely interested.. well, maybe cause it's not engaging the rest? lolx.. hmm.. looks kinda like sports day doesn't it? national day celebrations? nah.. kinda gives the impression that the school is more concerned about itself.. lolx.. finally at ~1030 they came up with this prize giving celebrations that no one paid attention and finally the dismissal.. oh ya, and did i mentioned there was no attendance taking? remind me not to turn up for such a thing again.. i'll only consider going for national day celebrations..

How To Save A Frisbee

i am proud to declare that the frisbee has been rescued from it's lofty perch after an hour of brainstorming and stair climbing.

how, you ask?well another pe teacher came up with the idea of using the rope to form a sort of U-shaped thingie to drag the frisbee down, instead of just one rope end. so she brought another rope and she and rj went to the roof garden to throw the rope(s) down. they had to come down to get the ropes to bring them up to try again so they ended up climbing up and down about 4 times.i chose the slacker job of waiting on the ground level. my job description entails me doing almost nothing but laugh at their (failed) attempts. then i went up and tried doing that rope thing with the teacher, letting rj rest. it didnt work, so we decided to use a third coil of rope as a weight.and voila (sounds familiar?), this time it worked (thankfully)!

proves that us science students do have some creativity in us despite popular belief :D we are problem sovlers!

so our class has the wonderful honour of being mr kwok's first class with no A level fails in a CA :D well done people, it seems like our pessimistic prediction isn't all that accurate after all (thank god, some of us really need this extra grade). i say, this calls for a celebration, no? so let's go collect money from people for charitable organisations while we're at it, cos happy people smile more, and people donate to those who smile. i think it's crap, but it's worth a try.
